Good to see you as always Duke! I am glad you are here and I hope you know what it has meant to me to have you take the same turn in the road as me when the old DR site split! I will keep coming back too!
WOW! AWESOME! I am in awe, mostly because I shiver in my boots when I think of 5 years! 2 years ago, I could not give you 5 minutes! It is sadly true that I would do something like a panic dance when I had less than a six pack in the fridge or if you asked me to do anything at any time where there w...
Hi! I'm Paige and I'm an Alcoholic. Part of my daily maintenance has been reading, posting and re-reading throughout the day at a site call Daily Reflections. The site was asked to close because AAWS asked that the copy-rights be honored as this is conference approved literature. That was a few week...
Way to GO! Your story sounds like mine. My first sponsor, bless her patience, helped me through alot of drama, but we never got to the book. It took a few months to realize and a few months more to change sponsors. Good luck in your travels. Stick with the program come here for some daily maintenence!

Whoa. Seriously? I worked Step 1 with my sponsor at a later time, about 8 months, then when I worked Step 1 in my heart, days 1-10, maybe still into day 90. I had a sponsor since day one but changed sponsors. My 2nd and current sponsor had me over for a get to know you session then we read every pag...
Keep coming back! You will slowly pick up on How it Works from the people at these meetings. It works better if ya don't drink and keep an open mind. Willingness to not drink was my beginning. If you drank like me, I have found AA is the solution.
Oh and "Feelings just are." As an alcoholic, I haven't felt them before I sobered up. No one like them , but everyone has them. We have the tools and the people of this program to get through feelings. The details don't matter as much as the hope.
There is nothing that happens in life that the steps and traditions don't apply to! I heard in a meeting, "I have never heard of a person actively working the Steps going out to get drunk." That stuck with me and even though my sponsor has been busy, I took it upon myself to read the 12&am...
At my home group we say at every meeting during our announcements: when our business meeting is, and if you want to be a home group member you are welcome to attend, with a brief explanation about what it mean to have a home group and be in a home group. If a woman attends more than once we ask if s...

Hi farmguy, I'm Paige and an alcoholic. I also talk too much! I make my husband crazy sometimes, but he is a very patient guy! I have reeled myself in a bit since I got sober. AND most of the things that he does to "make" me angry or whatever are usually ALL IN MY HEAD! My sponsor tells me...
