Practicing These Principles in all our affairs

Postby odat12 » Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:33 am

Hi all,

I'm just wondering what your typical day looks like. I know every one is different and has different ways of doing anything but surely things have changed since sobriety and I am trying to find some balance in my recovery life as I get back to work and go to meetings regularly. I go to about 3-4 meetings throughout the week and I've only just gotten back to work and only working one day a week but that's going to be amped up slowly as its becoming a necessity. I don't drive and the cold winter is coming. I'm becoming more in tune with "regular" sleeping schedule - in bed by 10:30 most days and up by 8. Doing my morning readings and heading to meeting after breakfast.

Thanks for sharing!

First of all time management in early recovery is key to some balance so to speak. Used to be a yellow book called living sober and it spoke abut how to live sober and to practice it in all affairs. I am not sure if it even exists anymore....

I spent a good chunk of my sobriety in some crazy places like Somalia fighting rule less people, even though I wasn't supposed to be in that part of the world. I drove over the road for many years moving equipment and stuff for the government and up to a few years ago I took a desk job doing engineering work for explosives and energetics. Soooooooooooooooo sometimes the actions are hard to control and my urges really aren't the issue as much as I am my issue at times.

Really I would say if you want quality sobriety and this is way different than quantity is hang with the winners in the rooms who have what you want and learn from them as we are able to think for ourselves and yet we need to be retrained to not stink our thinking up!!!!

Have you heard of HALT? H-Hungry A- Angry L-Lonely T-Tired work on not letting these get under your skin and you'll be in good company between your ears.
Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day.
