Thank you so much for posting this reference to one of Bill W. many articles on practicing AA's principles. It's exactly what I needed to read and be reminded of today!

AA Around the World

"To be happily sober, we must be active -- and this does not necessarily mean group activity. The Loner is part of a much larger group of people in far distant places, all members of AA with the same problems, fears, and happiness to be shared ... I may not be in face-to-face contact with other AA members, but my real friends in AA are too many to enumerate, and I find there aren't enough hours in the day to do all I should."

It is very easy and understandable for those living in large cities in large countries, to forget that there are AA's in other places, even in large countries you find isolated areas with few meetings and members. These people face a different challenge, there is no 90 in 90 and lots of other members to encourage them, I particularly like this report from one such member in 'The Language of the Heart'
"Though all alone out there, an AA from the Marshall Islands
still claimed his group had three members,
to wit: 'God, the book Alcoholics Anonymous, and me.'"
"Good morning, this is your Higher Power speaking. I will not be needing your help today."

About the November 8 one:

Short but sweet quote and I'm grateful for it, because its a good reminder that what we have is a daily reprieve based on our spiritual condition right now!
" Burn the idea into the consciousness of every man that he can get well regardless of anyone. The only condition is that he trust in God and clean house." page 98 A.A.

This is how I live it now too. God has become so much more large in my life since I have been a loner in AA though.
So there are amazing things that can happen. However, I am extremely grateful for the good foundational years I had attending at least three meetings a week and for my sponsors in those days. Thankful I'm sent prople into my life all the time who use the 12 steps, not wll are AA but still, to be able to hear others working these steps is a great thing and I'm grateful for it and e-AA where I do get to read from other alcoholics each day.

God has become so much more large in my life since I have been a loner in AA though.
Very good, and while I am also grateful for the foundation of meetings, and older heads there who I could ask for advise, it meant my life my serenity and my sobriety, had three pillars of support, meetings, people and God, it was good enough and all were perhaps equally strong supports. But when I leaned away from the meetings and peoples advise, and asked God to hold up some of what they provided, His support got stronger and stronger, and reached the point where the support of people is a joke in compassion. Only those who are willing to start depending less on humans, will come to know this truth.
