I'm new here.

Post by jeager106 » Thu Nov 03, 2016 11:57 am

My name is Del & I also go by jeager106 or just jeager.
My custom built flintlock muzzle loader is a German Jeager style in .58 caliber.
This rifle is one of a kind built for me years ago by a builder in Southern Ohio, serial # 106.
I hunt with it. I never get anything but I hunt anyway.
I'm a disabled police officer, back broken 4 times, concussions, fights, broken hands, and severe p t s d.
After police work and physical rehab learning to walk again I got a job with G.M. for 8 years.
GM paid for college and I earned 2 degrees.
I live in N.E. Ohio but right now am in hot & humid S.W. Florida trying to catch some fish with no luck.
Making meetings here daily. Alcoholism killed mom and dad and nearly killed me. 4 rehabs and still I struggle.
Cunning baffling, powerful.
I am a profound believer in God and learn what is good for my sobriety they STOP doing those good things and relaps.
Now I''m 70 and sick with diabetes, still drinking sometimes takes my sanity away and I might relaps again.
One good drunk could kill me so the prices of sobriety is eternal vigilance.
God, prayer, A.A., Big Book, family support is essential or I might die drunk.
Just want to say "HI" to all here.
An internet sobriety site will be good for me and keep my mind in recovery and on God's Grace.
I think it will be good for me to be here.
Agape love to all.

Welcome, Del. Have you worked the steps? The steps are key for anyone who wants sobriety.

Hey Del you mention the Big Book in your post. The answers are in that blue book my friend....at your next meeting listen for someone who has the type of sobriety you want and get busy working the steps....I'm glad you are here and sharing but it's time to take some action...nothing changes if nothing changes.

Yes working the steps is certainly key to sobriety.
I've worked the steps and made them part of my life.

You've got some stories and AA needs a person like you because when you have to get up early to pull some crap past you then we know we have a good member as you've lived a lot.

All I know is that if you have a desire then that is all that is necessary. leave the ego at the door and come in humble and I believe it'll do you some good.

have a safe trip and hopefully you'll catch a fish or two and a healthy shark.
Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day.

Hi Del and welcome.

My name is Mary and I'm a grateful sober alcoholic living in northern California. Glad you found this forum. If you don't have any luck fishing in Florida, come out to California. Great fishing, great AA meetings!. The ocean salmon fishing season here just closed but it's open for river salmon & steelhead fishing thru December. Good to hear from you.

Keep coming back....
