Had to get it out

Hi I'm Leppi and I'm an alcoholic!
Love this website by the way, and everyone in it.
I just really had to get this out. My boss called me over and pretty much told me that I'm gonna be let go by the year. As much as I despised my job I'm hurt. My sponsor told me to feel the feelings and be thankful that he didn't let me go all of a sudden or before the holidays. I just want to say that the feelings freakin hurt but I know I'm not gonna drink. Thanks everyone for being here!

If you dislike your job this much, maybe this is the push you need to find one that you enjoy? Maybe in a years time you'll be thinking, "Getting the sack was a really good thing to happen!"

I hope so.

Hi Leppi

Sorry to hear your bad news, but as Tosh says, it may in the long term turn out to be a blessing in disguise. I remember when I was let go once - it happened immediately no notice at all! It was a surprise but once I got over the initial shock and took stock of things I realised that I really didn't enjoy it and it was getting me down. I managed to find another job quite quickly - I wish you luck with doing the same!

Stay strong!

Hi Leppi, keep up the good work. I don't know if I would be able to take being let go right now. It's good to hear from someone that can.

Hello Leppi,
One of the things I've been taught and have learned (some) is that working this Program will help me "walk through" the not so wonderful times in life, without a drink.

I've watched people stay sober after the lose of a spouse, a child, and scary illness and jobs galore. Last month a women lost custody of her children and her family do not get get them. She got so angry, she cried a lot, she talked about it and didn't talk about it. She isolated some, but she did not drink. We don't know how this is going to end, but I believe our friend truly believes a drink will not help.

With the lost jobs crowd, they now are grateful and know everything happens for a reason. I have noticed when I need time to work on me, my Higher Power will, at times, make time for me to do that.

Hang in there!

Sometimes we just have to get things out.
