Third Step Prayer

Postby odat12 » Fri Nov 24, 2017 6:38 am

I offer myself to thee - to build with me and do with me as thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may do better thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of thy power, thy love, and thy way of life. May I do thy will always!

I didn’t like that prayer at all, thy, and thee and wilt just don’t appeal, fortunately I saw these words under the prayer -
The wording was, of course, quite optional so long as we expressed the idea, voicing it without reservation.

So with this and any other prayer, once we are sincere and have an idea what we are trying to achieve, putting it in ‘your’ own words is fine.
"Good morning, this is your Higher Power speaking. I will not be needing your help today."

Notice that there is no "Amen" until after the 7th Step prayer.
If I'm not able to say how I'm working my program today, then I'm not working my program.
