Oh MAN! NOT a bunch of happy alcoholics in the morning! 2 days a week I have to get up to drive my son to work... I think I will start from there and work my way out... maybe a noon meeting!

Good call on the selfish aspect of our troubles and the actions we take. I didn't go to a meeting last night and literally said, "Not unless someone calls." I am going to keep this thread in mind too. Sloth... such a cute animal, but I have seen one move about (if that is what I can call it). Very selfish compared to the full speed run and dive I saw a polar bear do when her cub was struggling in the water!
Step 6 is "AA's way of stating, the best possible attitude one can take in order to make a beginning on this lifetime job... with most of them we shall have to be content with patient improvement." 12&12 Step Six, p.65
