Nothing really new here. I was just doing some reading and was struck by the simplicity of a good doctor's recommendation:

What is the solution? Perhaps I can best answer this by relating one of my experiences.

"...a man was brought in to be treated for chronic alcoholism... He accepted the plan outlined in this book.

"I earnestly advise every alcoholic to read this book through, and though perhaps he came to scoff, he may remain to pray." (William D. Silkworth, M.D.)

There are four places in our text where good doctors or psychiatrists are mentioned: pages 14, 114 (2), 133.
"We A.A.s do not *stay* away from drinking [one day at a
time] -- we *grow* away from drinking [one day at a time]."
