I don't see any active big book study threads and wonder if anyone is interested in starting with me?

Well, you can basically do what you did, start a topic in the forum and others will respond to it.

If you browse the forums here, you’ll see other study topics in a similar way. In “The 12 Steps” forum I did the first step-study here back in 2003. Karl R started a Big Book study in this forum back in 2008. Those early studies could give you some pointers about what seemed to work or not.

All we really need is someone to begin posting a study. Someone just needs to start new topics, as old ones stagnate.

You start from the Preface. You group few sentences together. Offer what you understand from it. Others will chime in.
Show him, from your own experience, how the peculiar mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power (Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 92)
