Hi Everyone, Suppose i can call you my Brother's and Sister's.
Thanks For this Forum, and nice to be Home.
Am From Australia, and am in mid 40's .
The Party is over, and i realize the only way to Combat this Illness is forming strength with others.
Thanks AA, you saved my Life, and Taught me how to give back unconditionally.
It took many Relapse's to throw the Towel in, finally deciding to let go of Thread.
Am Grateful to God, for saving me From the Cruelty of Alcoholism, and spareing my life.
The Vortex of Alcoholism was to, intense with Emotion's intertwined swirling,
mental, physical Spiritual Pain.
Haunting me, trembling me with fear untill i clutched the wine stained mug, once again,
sniggering and holding me captive. I know i escaped also plenty of yet's
today i study and better my life, and see alcohol as Ethanol,
a stain cleaner, and Fuel for our vehicles, not intended, for Folk like me.
Will never be wealthy, but AA is teaching me to be Rich in Spirit, and try my best to be Humble.
:)

Welcome. Yes, the book talks about overcoming the spiritual malady we straighten out mentally and physically.

Good luck with your recovery. Hope you are inching closer to establishing a relationship with your higher power working the 12 steps of AA.
Show him, from your own experience, how the peculiar mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power (Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 92)

Welcome, I can tell you from my experiences is that Australia has a strong AA community and it has a struggling early history as you'll learn.

Good on you for the change in your life.
Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day.

Welcome here Surrender, lovely first post, full of hope for newcomers who might read it. I like this - “Will never be wealthy, but AA is teaching me to be Rich in Spirit, and try my best to be Humble.” I have been in this a few years, and a saying I used to think was nonsense - ‘The things in life which make you happy aren’t things,’ has become very true for me. I am far less interested in material things than I used to be, and a hell of a lot happier.

Thanks for the Welcome Fella's.
And thank's for reaching out to Alcoholics around the World,
looking forward to getting some Strength, hope, and tools from this Forum
so as to keep on, keeping on the journey of Sobriety.
Also looking forward to my meeting tomorrow, in our small Country Town.
Alcoholics are born sensitive caring people, i guess that's why we drank, we felt to much.
But now am sober, and doing meeting's i have found real people, real freind's for the first time in my life,
people just like us, that know what is going on, in the inside,
It's nice to finally belly laugh these day's with my new male and female freind's without any substance causing it..
Thanks to AA
:) Surrender.
