Hi, ladies. I wanted to mention that we have a closed forum here for women only and we have been sharing our stories with one another there in order to get to know one another better. Please feel free to sign up for the closed women's group. (Telling your story is totally optional).

P.S. There is a closed forum for men as well!

hi,
I am new to e-AA and hoping to stay connected as I travel. I was away for a week in the arctic and had no meetings there, and am now headed to cuba and hoping to find a meeting there in English.....
Maybe I can find tips from people on this e-AA Group?

Any advice how I get started?

Hi Traveller, welcome!

I have travelled a bit myself, and I use e-AA as my online home group in order to stay in touch with the fellowship and get help with applying the steps to my life. As far as Cuba goes, check with the international desk in NY GSO. Just call their main number.

More e-AA meetings and fellowship here www.e-aa.org/talk.php

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. Two years sober on Mar. 9 and just quit smoking (cigarettes) at the end of last year. :D

Welcome Ryan!

Glad you found us. Took me a couple of years sober before I could give up the smokes. Trust me though I will happily go back to smoking if it's a choice between smoking and drinking, stink and all.

Hope to see you around and thanks for posting,

Ann

Hi all,

I am new to this forum/site but I have been going to AA meetings for the last 6 weeks and have had been sober for 1 month now. Took a couple of weeks to get into the program and understand what it was all about, but have met so many friendly and inspirational people who have helped me get going. I have got myself a sponsor and currently attend 3 meetings a week.

I really hope this is the start of a major improvement to my life!

:D

I feel the same way. I'd grab a smoke before a drink for sure. But now it transferred to food, and now I'll grab a bowl of ice cream before a smoke! I told my wife id rather be 50 lbs overweight than have liver problems and lung cancer!
