Hello

Postby lowgroove » Sat Feb 01, 2014 4:19 pm

Hello. This is my 1st Forum. I have been sober, dry anyway 1 year on Jan 21st. I did my 90 meetings in 90 days, and I attend AA at least 4 times a week. I'm 43 and have been an alcoholic my whole adulthood. I've always isolated, and I've never had any hobbies. The only thing that has changed in my life is I'm now sober. I am so thankful for AA and the freedom that I have today, but don't take advantage of my new freedom. I'm looking forward to reading, learning, and opening up. Thx

Welcome to the forum. Have you started working the 12 steps of AA yet? Our book talks about that alone will permanently fix the problem. Working the 12 steps helps us have a different outlook upon life. If you have not, start now.

1 year! Awesome! Monumental! I never thought I could go a DAY! I did it too - and have made more than a year! I haven't found it necessary to take a drink since August 1, 2009 and I am grateful to AA for my sobriety!

Glad you are here!

Congrats on 1 year! That is awesome! Stick close to the program and keep doing what you are doing.
Step 1: I can't
Step 2: He can
Step 3: I think I'll let him
