Hi Desera and welcome, I responded to a post you made in the sponsors forum:

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12690&view=unread#p87522

A suggestion, as you are registered user, you can post a question in the for newcomers forum, and tell us a little about yourself in the for newcomers forum if you are so inclined.

Hello Desera,

Also, just so you know, in addition to these forums, e-aa has a variety of e-mail meetings, you may find out more about these meetings by going to:

http://e-aa.org/maillist.html

In addition, e-aa also has a few meetings a day in a chatroom. I myself do not participate in the chatroom, but many do and there is good sobriety in the chatrooms. Registration is required.g For information about the chatrooms go to http://e-aa.org/chat.php.

You may register at this link: http://e-aa.org/chat_register.php and they ask that you read the guidelines ( http://e-aa.org/chat.php#chat_guides ) before registering. If you need help registering, there is help available at http://www.e-aa.org/chat_help.php, fill out the form and someone will get back to you.

I'd suggest that if there is a face-to-face A.A. meeting in our near your town where you live that you go to a meeting and introduce yourself. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. Going to your first meeting may be scary, we have all been there.

Of course, anyone is welcome to post in the guest book even if you are not a registered user on the e-AA forum. I see that you have registered as a user, which means that you can post to other forums, such as the for the newcomer forum in the recovery section. If you are new or coming back, the for the newcomer forum is a great place to post to as many people monitor that forum for posts by newcomers. There is also a discussion forum which draws a lot of traffic.

Also, there are closed meetings that you can register for in the closed meetings section: Daily Reflections, Women's, Men's and a registered discussion. It's been awhile since I've registered for the closed meetings, so I don't recall how to do it. But I don't think it is that hard. There should be a link to make a request to join a closed meeting and your request is sent to someone who monitors the closed forum that you are interested in, and they will approve your membership in that forum, might take a few hours for this to happen.
