getting sober after 40 years

Postby Danny G » Thu Apr 11, 2013 2:37 am

My name is Danny G. and I have been sober for 112 days. I feel a little silly praying and asking for help from a higher power but this much I know. 112 day is the longest that I have ever been sober and I could not have done it on my own. HP, ok, I will take it.

Hi Danny! Welcome here! My name is Ed, and I am an alcoholic. Glad you're here.... you will will find lots of good recovery and good folks here.

Congratulations on 112 days! Do you have a sponsor yet? I finally got sober after 38 years of drinking, like you, and found that a sponsor was invaluable!

Keep stacking up those days, and keep coming back!

Thanks, Ed

Welcome Danny and congratulations!

It sure is better than what I had before.

Welcome Danny,'

We're never old (or young) to start living, and for a guy like me, Alcohol was a slow death and AA got me a second chance at life.

It's a good life, and I never had it so good.

Keep stacking up those 24 hour blocks without caving in to the Fatal First pays off.

Together, we don't have to cave in or wimp out to that Fatal First One, no matter what today!
