Hi There!!

Post by yukonm » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:28 pm

Hi There. I just joined this forum. I am an alcoholic and have been in recovery since 08/21/07. I have participated in other sites for about 4 years now and find online recovery support an integral part of my continuing sobriety. I am glad to be here. :D

Hi, My favorite topic is "Letting Go". I have found both freedom and strength in letting go. Faith in my higher power and a willingness to get out of my own way, has opened many doors for me and got me through the ups and downs of life. Actually, what works for me is prayer, reflection, meditation and action.....in that order. Asking God to guide me, laying out the facts, listening for His answer and doing the next right thing.

Yeah - letting go... surrender. Hard topics for this drunk! I like pg 84 where it says, "Love & tolerance of others... we ceased fighting..."

And pg 87 where it says, "Pause when agitated.." so much easier for me to get my mind around... they seemed like actions I could take, but brought no connotations of religious terms like Let Go & Let God or Surrender!

Hello,
I just joined also. This is my first time on an e-AA site, but I hope to learn a lot. I'm 18 months sober :)
Thanks,
Leslie
