Jerry the Town Drunk

Post by avaneesh912 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 7:41 pm

This was Clarense Snyders favorite (Home Brewmeister):

There was a guy named Jerry the town drunk, he was homeless, dirty, dishaveled, his hind-end hanging out of the birches... One day he kicks the bucket. So this created a problem for the local people. They had to bury him. First they had to find a taylor, a barber and an undertaker. which they did. And after some difficulty found a priest for his last rites. At the funeral, the priest didn't know what to say, so he goes "we all knew Jerry....yada yada...i don't know what else to say" but I want you all to come and take a look at Jerry and see how good he looks since he quit drinking!!!!
Show him, from your own experience, how the peculiar mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power (Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 92)
