The 12 Promises of Christmas Past

Post by Blue Moon » Sun Dec 23, 2012 6:26 am

1. When we were painstaking about our drinking, we were amazed before we were half way through.

2. We knew a new freedom and a new happiness whilst drinking.

3. We did not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it whilst drinking.

4. We comprehended the word ser... sher... whatever and we knew peace whilst drinking.

5. No matter how far down the scale we went, we saw how our experience can benefit others whilst drinking.

6. That feeling of uselessness and selfpity disappeared whilst drinking.

7. We lost interest in selfish things and gained interest in our bedfellows whilst drinking.

8. Self-seeking slipped away whilst drinking.

9. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life changed whilst drinking.

10. Fear of people and of economic insecurity left us whilst drinking.

11. We intuitively knew how to handle all situations whilst drinking.

12. We suddenly realized that alcohol was doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Were these extravagant promises? We think not. They were being fulfilled among us—sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They always materialized if we could drink enough without passing out.

Thanks Ian

#5. No matter how far down the scale we went, we could find a way to go lower
Together, we don't have to cave in or wimp out to that Fatal First One, no matter what today!
