"All I had to do was ask myself a simple question:

I like this quote. That is the question. I admit I am powerless over alcohol, yet at the same time I am powerful and in control of my alcohol. Understanding defeat and accomplishment in the same topic is a wild concept.

"I am grateful that the people in AA showed me how to live sober. However, I have learned many things from other sources. I learned about quiet from the breeze floating through the grass on a warm summer day. I have learned unconditional love from my animals. I have learned how to have wonder of the world from my children. I have learned that all things have tremendous power."

Todd,
I too am from the PNW. I like you quotes. The one about this could be the best day of my life if I do not have a drink. It makes me so happy to have these options now. I used to be so confined and controlled by the bottle. It limited me so much in my social life, my traveling options and has allowed me to act spontaneously. Before I would get invited somewhere socially and have to decline because I was to drunk to get there. Now those options are open to me and every day could be the best day ever. Now without a drink I have the power and opportunity to accept and embrace that best day. Thanks for your quotes they create motivation for me to have the power.
