Alateen

Some alcoholics still have families when they get to AA. This is a place to ask questions and share experiences about relating to family members sober, especially when newly sober. (If you are not an alcoholic, please use the "Our Friends and Families" forum.)

Alateen

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend an Alateen forum or other resource that I can pass along to a newcomer with a teenage daughter? We only have alanon meetings here locally, and I have no idea of a safe place on the Internet that she could turn to. It saddens me that they are no longer available here in town.

Thanks,
Chelle (formerly known as zimmy)

At the al-anon.org site there's a link to trying an alateen chat meeting.

I'll pm you the direct URL.

Best,

Ann

Got it Ann, and thank you so much. I just stood there dumbfounded when she said nothing was available here. I remember going to one as a young girl in town here, but I left as soon as I heard they couldn't tell me how to fix my mom. Sticking around that meeting is on the list of things I would tell my younger self
