At a loss for a topic for tomorrow's women's meeting

Post by soberchicinreading » Tue Apr 20, 2010 5:59 pm

Hi, I'm a sober chic in reading and I am an alcoholic. My sobriety date is 12/18/05. I'm chairing my home group's women's meeting tomorrow night and was going to use "what to do when your program gets stale or stagnant." Does this sound like a good one? Thanks for your help.

Describe what you mean by program? Modern day AA is about going to 90 in 90 meetings. What is yours?

HI Sober chick in Reading (PA?),

Maybe "complacency" would be a better way to put it. Somewhere there's a list of AA topics, like 50 of them, and I think "complacency" is on the list.

As Nari mentions, "my program" or "your program" can be controversial -- I've learned that following "The" program of Alcoholics Anonymous, outlined in the Big Book, is the way to personal recovery and to being of most use to those around me.

Good luck, hope to hear how it went!

If you want a heated discussion tell your fellow ladies that you would like Tradition Three changed or amended to allow men to sit in on your meeting.
No, just kidding. Please don't do that.

Hi SCIR :D
That sounds like a great topic! I agree with Ann; complacency is possibly a better way to phrase it.
