how do u keep a male/female frienship purely platonic without being offensive to the other person?

I don't know if this is A.A. related...but something my sponsor likes to do is have me tell people things that are important to me, even if I risk hurting their feelings.

I suppose I would think carefully before I made any comments or took any actions that seemed inappropriate. Or put myself in the position of the other person and tried to see how those actions/comments would be interpreted. If you have even the slightest feeling that you would be received in an offensive manner, then what you wanted to say/do probably is offensive. Pretty simply put, without getting too far into it, which I am not qualified to do. :D
