Probelm with board posting

Postby rodk » Sun Dec 17, 2006 5:05 am

In some forums when I try to post I get the following error
"You must have 10 posts before you can post URL's/Links."

My posts do not contain URLs or Links so not sure what is going on. Other forums, I can reply without any problem. I utilize the same unformatted text from forum to forum so not sure why the problem.

Also, I do not see a webmaster link anywhere on the boards, so I hope this is ok to post my prob. here.

Thanks!

Thanks Wayne, was wondering if I was cursed =)

Any moderators able to help with this problem? I keep trying to reply to posts with no luck usually.

A few moderators have been discussing this. It appears to be a more wide spread issue than just the two of you. Not sure what the answer will be, but Blue Moon will handle it. He's been doing a good job staying on top of other issues in the recent past and I'm sure he'll provide some feedback soon.

Hang in there ... we'll hear something soon.

I can't see what you'd tried to post, so am not sure what the problem was.

I'll check the logs.

This "can't post URL" thing is part of our anti-SPAM measures, it is something we could turn off. Once you hit the requisite number of posts, you shouldn't have a problem anyway.

Thanks Blue. But having a bit of a problem hitting the number of required posts when it wont let me post =).

No problem, good stuff on the boards to read, I will get to 10 before too long.

I had the same problem too, not when posting a reply, but when trying to put up a new post. I'll keep trying :)
