Other drugs at meetings...

Is the concept of a Home Group dying? What is a Home Group anyway? Talk about it here.

My perception is that the term "pure" alcoholic bespeaks a moral superiority. I also feel it serves to propagate a "better than"attitude.

You can believe or perceive what you want to, but know that this perception gives us an insight into you. If I coined the phrase it means what I say it means and this exemplifies what I have had to say frequently in this forum that at least some must "self"-interpret rather than trying to understand the intended meaning.

You can believe or perceive what you want to,

That is pretty much how things go when it comes to human beings.

but know that this perception gives us an insight into you

That was the purpose of the post and I would hope that it does indeed accomplish that. You don't appear to spend any time contemplating on perceptions other than your own, so I thought I would interject the perception of another person. What you do with the information is up to you.

You want to know what I got out it, that you have some issues and I think you like to poke the bear to get a reaction, but it didn't work.

A lot of times the faults we perceive in other people are actually aspects of our own character that we subconsciously don't like about ourselves.
you have some issues and I think you like to poke the bear to get a reaction

I believe this applies to you more than does me.

If I coined the phrase it means what I say it means

My perception was based on this
I, as a pure alcoholic, cannot identify or relate to someone that has to steal or prostitute themselves for their mood altering substance, go into a seedy neighborhood to score, and take a substance that may actually be toxic, breaking many laws along the way where alcohol is generally legal. Drug abuse requires a much higher level of criminality and dishonesty.

If you want to be accurate, "it is those things I dislike in others that I dislike in myself."

The point is when you take others inventory, or "critique" them, you are taking your own inventory...

When you point a finger at another, you have four (4) pointing at you......

I am aware that by responding, I have three pointing back at me. Does that hold true for you in your last reply?

Since I wasn't pointing a finger...

Try counting the thumb... Still, three versus one... And so much for humility and the "critiquing" guideline...

I am aware that I am doing it, evidently you don't view yourself as doing it as well.

Try counting the thumb

When I point a finger at someone, my thumb doesn't point back me.

Its good to know that we are anatomically different. My thumb curves backward when fully extended like when I am pointing a finger at another.

And I don't think I am pointing a finger at another if I observe that that person is pointing a finger at me. But I am sure that you will tell me that I am wrong.

Our liquor was but a symptom. So we had to get down to causes and conditions.
pg 64 Of the Big Book

So, what is an Pure Alcoholic if alcohol is but a Symptom?
