The following is on the agenda of the indicated committee for consideration at the 51st General Service Conference meeting to be held in New York City, April 22 through 28. It is on the agenda because it was thought worthy of AA-wide discussion.
Finance Committee
Topic: That the 2001 Conference appoint an ad hoc Ways and Means committee to discuss and present to the 2002 Conference its ideas and suggestions on how our General Service Office may become fully self-supporting through AA member and group contributions.
A substantial portion of the General Service Office's expenses are paid for by profits from literature sales. Some say this is not appropriate and, because of this practice, we are not paying our own way -- we are not self-supporting, in other words.
[This message has been edited by Dean C (edited 03-12-2001).]
