I feel worthless

Postby Jonti F » Wed May 02, 2018 4:26 pm

I feel at the end of my tether and am just so very very tired. Every day I get out of bed but tonight I’ve an overwhealming feeling that I’ve had enough. I feel as though my heart heals when I sleep and then as soon as I wake up it breaks all over again. I’m so alone.

Please feel free to share more about yourself. What you stated could be un-treated alcoholism.
Show him, from your own experience, how the peculiar mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power (Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 92)

There is a way out. You have made a start at it already.

Besides, hanging out here couldn't be any worse could it?

Maybe another way to look at it, is that things can only get better. Myself and I'm sure a lot of others, have been in your situation. It may help to read some of the stories in the back of the Big Book, or other personal stories of recovery that you can find online. Try to find at least one story you can identify with and realize that this person found a way to recover and so can you.

Hi Jonti. have felt that way.
I felt that way, for a period, long before I became an uncontrolled alcoholic. Unfortunately drinking, which in those days meant socializing in bars, was a big part of how I dealt with it.

Years later drinking had become my goto solution and that, in my case that did not work out. Presumably you came here because you think you may be an alcoholic.

Perhaps you should tell us a little more about yourself.
