Re: Cheapest Big Books?

I am glad I asked this question here, based on price and discount GSO appears to be the best, and the profit goes back to AA. Thanks Brock. Im glad you brought it up too. Our group never shakes out even on our big books, so with the reduced price, we stand a fighting chance if someone needs one and...

Re: Cheapest Big Books?

Thanks all.
We had a group conscience at our buainess meeting and did indeed order from GSO. My main concern was under cutting our intergroup on the profit. We ended up paying $8.93 per book with free shipping over $500.00.

Re: Cheapest Big Books?

Can a group buy books from them independently, or must they go through a committee? Is it a matter of group conscious in your opinion?

Re: Questions Heard At Meetings.

For me, jealousy is an ugly emotion. If Im chasing something based on that, Im in trouble  Many people around here have a lot of money. They take plenty of vacation, wear designer clothes etc. I would go broke trying to be like them. I think when i am jealous, I am also resentful. My motive...

Re: Relapse waiting to happen

Thanks so much for the replies. Jeff, I have asked her about inpatient, and she is considering it. Along with health problems, she is a suicide risk. That scares the H E double hockey sticks out of me. Our homegroup recently lost a member that I had grown very close to in December by suicide while d...

Relapse waiting to happen

Im curious what you all do when you are watching a sponsee on their way to a relapse? I am sponsoring a girl that gets a little time under her belt, starts missing meeting, and hits a snag and drinks. Shes on her 9th step. She text yesterday that she wouldn't be at the meeting, but would be there to...

Re: Did I relapse?

I would. For me, it is zero, nada, zilch alcohol. I want to live a life of sobriety. Just a little alcohol will send me down the rabbit hole of obsession and complete destruction. To thine own self be true. I guess it just depends on your goal. If you are seeking to control your drinking, you nailed...

Re: I need desperate help

I agree with tomsteve. Going to meetings would have never kept me sober. I needed the steps, a sponsor and a commitment. In the beginning, my commitment was to show up as often as I drank (for me it was every day) and helping with coffee and clean up. I got a womans phone list and I used it. It was ...

Re: First 30 days

I shared at my home group once when I relapsed after 18 months. After that I just said "I would like to listen". I had a lot to learn. I dont think it is helpful to humiliate yourself over and over again. Now that I have some time under my belt, I will share about it if it is helpful to someone else...

Re: Acceptance & Expectations

burger analogy is just plain silly. Of course it is silly. It was meant to be =wink The point I was making is that I have to accept things, both big and small. Even the unacceptable, at times. As far as your doctor analogy, I try to stay out of the "what if". It makes my head crazy and I slip back ...
