Re: Is Introversion a Character defect?

I’m fairly outgoing and chatty but after a few years now I’m happy in my own company & at peace within, amazing thanks to the steps. Sometimes in the rooms the old me would have socialised with everyone & I learnt I was seeking validation & approval not anymore thankfully I feel free today in just b...

Re: loneliness in early sobriety

I had a busy mind always going over old resentments and old hurts but as I did the steps it eventually quitetend down. Some days I still fe...

Things people say

When I hear old timers say 'the longer your around the road gets narrower' please can someone tell me what it means.
I haven't a clue and when I hear it, it makes me fearful for some reason.
Thankyou

Re: How to Let Go

Hi Puppyears, yes being vulnerable was the key to my recovery. I wasn't aware in my first year that's what I was doing. But it was my saving grace, I just had to be me and get all my stuff out I sometimes cringe about personal stuff i shared but so what! I bet most don't even remember and it helped ...

Re: 4th step moral inventory

Hi Eugeni, Just a thought; you say your obsessing about the girl, I find obsessing is part of my alcoholism it's got a lot better the longer I'm sober but I find I can obsess about things that don't even matter to me. The only way for me to get it to stop at times is to share about it or speak to my...

Re: Welcoming the newcomer

I totally agree with the above comments. Seeing people with long term Soberity gave me so much hope & still does. It shows me this stuff works long term if we remain willing and keep coming back.

Re: Self Centeredness

Love it, thanks for the post. Easy to read and understand. One of the things I've found hard over the years is the terminology in the BB you put it very simply.

Re: Alcohol And Diverticulosis

Hi Bigalcalbisque, I'm 5 yrs sober nearly and I was diagnosed last year with Diverticulist (moderate) I was very upset about this (Thankgod I had the program) but it explained why I've had trouble downstairs. Drinking didn't help in fact I wonder if it helped cause it! I did a load of research onlin...
