Re: Primetime aa

I called my local general service office and they didn't have an issue with them and even have their meetings listed in the meeting guide. So I think... Tradition 4... “Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.” https://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/en_t...

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

Its been my experience in AA that when dealing with anyone who perceives themselves as a victim who is being drawn into places against their will...... having to clear things up is inevitable!

So let me keep it real simple....You're Welcome! lol

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

At any rate, I don’t want to be drawn into a senseless debate, this is about drug addicts in AA meetings. Anything other than that I will take D’oh’s lead, and just say -“Thanks for clearing that up.” You seem to bring yourself into where you don't want to go. So, if you don't want to...then don't....

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

The question didn’t include radical changes like these - “ ...No Group Conscience in any 12 step group can change any Step, Tradition, or Concept not without 3/4 of Worlds AA groups voting for it.” But surely if some folks decided to start a group with different steps & traditions, they could call ...

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

I was more referring to this There are multiple 12 Step Recovery Programs, all using the same 12 Steps and 12 Traditions. Alcoholics Anonymous was very generous in giving them ALL permission to use them. Either way, Group Conscience, should hold the final say. Coming from Small Town member that bel...

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

The Washingtonians, The Emmanuel Movement, and the The Oxford Group never had a Singleness of Purpose! Gee, that could be why they are not around anymore! lol

Singleness Of Purpose....that is the topic, no?

Re: Highest Position in AA!

These steps were once suggested as a program of recovery. There seems to be a misunderstanding that AA is a program and these step constitute that program. I have read those 12 steps on that one sheet of paper -- more than a few times. No where in those steps does it say anything about making chang...

Re: Need Advice - Borrowing and Lending in 12 Step Programs

GJM.... simply repay the 20 dollars on pay day. I am not sure why this sponsor discussed his wife's reaction with YOU, because the issue your sponsor has is between him and his wife.......it has NOTHING to do with you at all. You asked to borrow 20 and he gave you the 20. Now, pay him back on pay da...

Re: Singleness of Purpose???

A.A. has a Singleness Of Purpose for a vital reason. Identification is the essence of our Common Bond. There is one out of every ten drinkers who will become alcoholic. That means that 9 out of 10 drink alcohol in safety and they are called "Social Drinkers". I have never met a Social Heroin User.....

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum but I've been sober and a member of AA for almost 5 years now. I'm currently looking for a new job so I am putting together my resume. Through my time in AA I have been the treasurer for multiple AA groups for a collaborative of 2 years. Now obviously I would no...

The Pamphlet "Many Paths to Spirituality" is below and I hope this pamphlet helps. https://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/p-84_manypathstospirituality.pdf Alcoholics Anonymous doesn't tell anyone what to think or not think, what to believe or not believe. That is a choice for the individual to make for one...
