Hey Melrose, welcome to eAA group, great bunch of ppl here with lots of ESH to share. Forget about the past, its over and cannot be changed. Re: not sure what to think here, counselors suggestion

I have been told to pray about 'stuff' that is weighing heavy on my mind .... and wait for the answer to come.

I would thank the counselor for his time and suggestions.. but kindly let him know that at this time you don't feel you need IPT.

Remember ... Keep it simple :) .

Re: Long road ahead

Congratulations.... 9 months without a drink, one day at a time is certainly a huge accomplishment! It is a long road, no doubt! But the journey is made SO much more easier with the program and steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and all the wonderful ppl in the fellowship. I remember early on in my own s...

Re: Intolerance

Chicken, Keep reading the BB and applying it to any situation/circumstance in your life. Intolerance was very common for me early in my sobriety.. it has taken years, literally for me to learn how to deal with people. Keep coming back... get a sponsor, work the steps, trust God and help Others, you ...

Re: First year around A.A. & Suggested for me not to do

Based on my own experience... because in the early stages of getting sober I was so vulnerable it was in my best interest to NOT make any big changes in my life. Did I listen to the other ppl in AA when they were trying to tell me this? No, I did not and because I didnt... it affected me and I made ...

(((((( Chicken ))))) Welcome, glad you are here !! Hey, congrats to you for at least trying. Ya know, not everybody is a first time sober winner that walks thru the doors of AA meetings. You did what you could and I commend you for that much. Sorry, but in my opinion your previous sponsor sounds lik...

Re: Question?

Welcome to eAA group, glad you are here! Alcoholics Anonymous is not the only way to get and stay sober. However, it is the only way that has worked for me. And to correct your wife some if I may... alcohol is NOT the problem, I am... the booze is just a symptom. I personally have never been to a tr...

Re: Suicide or Denial?

My guess is that the woman is in her own home receiving hospice care correct?
Id be willing to bet she is aware that she is dying... and its self inficted.

Why not take another woman with you Lali and visit her... kinda like the 'Man on the side of the bed' thing.

Re: Confused about AA

Hey Trent, welcome :) . Ya know, AA isn't the only way to stop drinking. However, it is the only way that has worked for me. Our literature has a wonderful chapter.. Chapter 4 We Agnostics. It is dedicated to ppl like yourself Trent who just dont understand the 'God' thing. I know for me, without th...

Re: Sober and life is still unmanageable

Hmmmm.. maybe just a little bit to much information for me. But I do congratulate you on staying sober. I would highly, highly suggest you stop the relationship with the gal asap. In early stages of sobriety many new ppl are so very vulnerable and tend to get caught up in unecessary relationships ......

Re: Sick of Relapsing

I was a 'Golden Slipper' too... getting drunk so many times in my first 2 yrs of going to meetings. And yep, every time I drank.. I had forgotten the real true meaning of step 1.. I had forgotten my powerlessness over alcohol. Today, I know if I dont pick up that first one.. I wont get drunk. Its re...
