Re: struggling to get back in the lifeboat

This is the first time I have tried an online connection to help me fight the mid- to late-day demons. I know that meeting makers make it, but still I escape to the dim room, TV and beer rather than to a meeting. Thanks for listening. Welcome, ebear. Thanks for your post. Things look grim but that ...

Re: Online meetings?

Welcome to the forum, Rob. Nice to meet you.

There are definitely some online meetings. Online meetings have large advantages for those people who can benefit from them. Like me...or you.

Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

Re: Listerine DUI

According to the newspaper report, her BAC was .10-.16. (Not sure how that works, it doesn't seem precise). As info only. Probably should have read .10 - <.16 This is from a state using a tiered system for legislating and adjudicating DUI law. The system goes like this: .08% to less than .10% --DUI...

Re: I think I have a problem, well I know I do

How do you know if you're an 'alcoholic', can you be if you're just a binge drinker? Blackout drinking is a powerful indicator of alcoholism. Blacking out 3 times weekly, every week, is wayyyyy into alcoholism territory.... Making promises to not drink but then drinking anyway is another important ...

Re: I need advice..pls read my story :/

I dont know if I think I can handle it, but I know that its bad. ... I feel like I can control my normal drinking and this is just one instance of me going off the rails in this bender. Seems like you are increasingly losing control.... Welcome to the forum, cat129. Stick around. We all used to dri...

Re: Listerine DUI

The best way to handle this issueis through the group conscience process. Individuals, including the chair or a co-founder don't have any authority to adjudicate a situation as described by OP. There is but one ultimate authority that should be recognized by an AA group. LauraW is not really stuck "...

Re: Sponsor Questions

Welcome back to the forum, cheddarveil. From your description, your sponsor tends to be somewhat overenthusiastic about her role of sponsor. You're in a sticky spot since there is a need to clarify boundarie and responsibilities on the basis of equals , while the relationship you now have is superio...

Re: Question? Non Sponsored, Sponsoring

I don't know who the very first sponsor was, but they obviously didn't have a sponsor before they became one. I imagine they had personal experience with working the steps, but that is only a guess on my part. Ebby Thatcher. He didn't really have much experience even after he become a sponsor...

It's "either or?" Are you suggesting there are but two paths within AA?
