Re: Selfish?

Hello Brock I wouldn’t read too much into the statement the women told you. If I am relying on only one person I would be in trouble. With that said let me really get your mind going. Please know that the following it not what you should do but only what I have learned on my journey that works for m...

Re: How Much Work?

Hmmmmmm how about a life-times worth of work, or better phased a life-time of practice. I was lucky enough to have a sponsor that induced to the principles of AA by taking me through the step. To me the 12th is pretty clear on that, something about all of our affairs.

Re: Hiding Places.

We found an empty vodka bottle a year and half after we got sober. And we even moved during that time. If it would have had something in it we would understand but neither one of us why she save an empty.lol

Re: Steps 2 and 3

I work in a field which I am surrounded by engineers and even they don’t complicate things as badly as alcoholics. I love all of the insight and preparation and understanding needed to take 2 steps that can actually be taken without a person even knowing they took them. The day I told my wife to tak...

Hello Ready477 and welcome to E-AA. My name is Robert and I am a Los Angeles area alcoholic. I will tell you what they told me when I was new. “You will never have to take another drink if you don’t want to, and even if you want to you won’t have to if you are willing to do a few simple things.” Tha...

Re: ‘Bad’ Habits From Rehab?

Bad habits from rehab? I say nay nay. Whether rehab are good or bad is really none of our business. The bad habits are pushing what we do onto outside enterprises. The 6th tradition: An A.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest...

Re: anonymity at a funeral

A person’s anonymity after they die? Well that is and should be left up to the family of the deceased. Memorials are held in the rooms for many where there is no restriction anonymity but when it comes to the 11th tradition it’s up to the family.
