Re: Help me to understand!

1. Were you raised in a religious background and did you then return to it? An alcoholic background with a little church mixed in. I quickly put church teachings in the fairy tale column with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. I have returned to some of the writings, much later i...

Re: The Dark Night of the Soul

Hello seva Nice to read your experience. In my own life I go through seasons. Like Winter gives way to Spring and new growth my life can go through times that seem dark and it can be a great time for deep introspection and inventory. The dark days have always passed and given way to new growth and I...

Re: CBD oil, no THC

AA has taught me that "My hat is off to you". This is said toward alcohol and I use it toward the use of anything an AA member chooses in his/her life. All I can share is my experience when asked. My experience may not be your experience. Thank God we only need a desire to stop drinking to be a memb...

Re: 4th step depression?

Hi Dave I see you have just begun to inventory. I hope you have someone to guide you and answer questions. Even if you don't, our BB tells us a lot starting on the bottom of page 63 through pg. 71 about step 4. The 12x12 can also help. There are also great videos and other resources on the internet....

Re: Can you be your own higher power?

Step One Says we are powerless over alcohol. It does not say we are powerless. 💜 I do understand what you are pointing out, in the first half of step one about alcohol. However the BB does say the following about the lack of Power. PG 45 BB Lack of power, that was our dilemma. We had to find a powe...

Re: Tips for Sober life

julie098 If you are an alcoholic, chances are you will end up back in a rehab or the rooms of AA or some other not so pretty options, at some time in the future. But if you enjoyed your rehab so much, shoot! Start over and enjoy and be grateful you have that option. Many people that are real alcohol...

Surrender the self and trust in a HP.

That little giant leap is the only reason I am alive today.
Many don't make that leap, unfortunately.

Re: Step 11 - Meditation. A different meaning?

Seva Hello As far as meditation. Maybe it is a lot like choosing a meeting to attend. Does it keep you coming back? And do you want what it has what it provides? After asking advice of HP and accepting HP's will for you on the matter and letting go, maybe you will find it or it will find you. Have f...

Re: Continue to watch for ...

this is one step that not enough is written of in the bb- Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up, we ask God at once to remove them. We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn ou...

Re: Step 2 Spiritual Guidance

I am in the process of re-working Step 2 and one of the questions I want to ask is how do YOU sense spiritual guidance? In the past, I often avoided actually asking for spiritual guidance in certain important situations like employment. Why? Out of fear I guess....fear that God's will wouldn't be t...
