Re: How Do you carry Gods will?

I carefully look at my motives in a situation that bothers me. I identify what's going on inside of me that I am having a hard time showing love, patience, kindness and/or tolerance to a person, place or thing. I pause. I pray. And when in doubt, I always choose the most positive perspective. I real...

Re: The struggles of just learning how to be sober

This was a great read. I never thought about applying it with the 5 stages of grief, but it certainly rings true to me. Anger for me, too, was also being resentful towards those that were upset with me or not wanting to have me in their lives. I had to let go of that. I'm waiting for my amends step ...

Re: To Thine Own Self Be True

It is a quote from Shakespeare. The rest of it is: "And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man."
Thank you for sharing this. It deepens the meaning to me to know the origin. I, like some in this topic, wasn't exactly sure of how to interpret it.

Re: Merl here with 9 months

Congratulations on your 9 months and coming up on your 10! Very sorry to hear of all the loss in your family, but the ability to stay sober amidst all that is amazing.

Re: New to AA ...spouse doesn't want sobriety , I want to be

I'm so new to recovery and I'm thankful that my significant other chose recovery as well. We have been sharing our journey. We both have said that if one of us decides not to continue down that path, that it would, more than likely, be the end of us. I wish you well. I would need time away from a sp...

Re: Time Frame for Completion of the 12 Steps

To read pages 86 to 88 from the Big Book everyday as my morning reading. Not a bad thing to get engrained in your head. I congratulate you....You are on the right path! Mine suggested 83-86 at night and 86-88 on awakening/ Starting with "Yes there is a long period of reconstruction ahead." A daily ...

Welcome Mike, Lace and Patria! I'm pretty new to the forums, as well. It's been a wonderful source for information and support in my recovery journey.

I hope to keep hearing more from you and see you around these rooms :)

Re: Time Frame for Completion

Thank you for the topic, serendipity. This is an excellent thread that will hopefully help others with this question for years to come. It's just a shame that someone turned it into a discussion on 90 in 90. Maybe we could change the subject line to Time Frame for Completion of the 12 Steps so some...

Re: Time Frame for Completion

I'm so thankful for all the responses. It reassured me that I'm doing my program the way that it works best for me, time wise. I don't feel like I'm blazing through it, nor do I feel like I am dragging my feet. I'm just soaking in all the ES&H and thankful that I have such a wonderful venue, in whic...
