Re: Relapsed

that I needed to find out what why I had drunk again before starting the 30 day deal again. I've never heard of the "30 day deal". Is that some kind of diet or something? As others have said the relief is in the steps along with being honest, open minded, and willing. A good dose of stubbornness he...

Too young??

I'm 21 and in AA, I keep feeling that I am way to young to be in AA, I am the youngest person in all of the meetings that I go to by at least 6 or 7 years I think but most people are at least 20 years older than me, I don't feel like I can really connect with people so much older than me, there aren...

Re: New to recovery

Hi James, Congratulations and well done for your 76 days sober, its great that you've come this far :) Alcoholism is a insane disease that will tell us that we aren't alcoholics and that we CAN drink normally, we have to ignore those thoughts if we can and try to phone someone when we can't ignore t...

Re: If this is an allergy....

The answer to your question is explained in the big book. The disease of alcoholism is a spiritual disease as well as a physical one and the 12 steps (from my understanding) give us the tools needed to be able to live soberly.

Hope this helps

Re: Struggling Newcomer

Hi Mary, I'm Tara and I'm 21. I've been in AA a couple of months and an 5 weeks sober. It's great that you have realised so early that you have a problem with alcohol, it means that you have the rest of your life to enjoy and don't have to go through the things that others in AA have gone through. I...

Re: My adult daughter.

You're sober years will set a example to her and show her that sobriety can be achieved and maintained. There are some things that people have to experience for themselves to know why they can't do those things, I can only imagine that had your daughter never touched drugs she wouldn't really know w...

Re: Looking for some new connections.

Hello! My name is Ashley and I'm an alcoholic. I am over 21 months sober. I'm 24, and I attend college here in Michigan. I have been finding myself lonely lately because I have not been able to find many sober young people to connect with. I find talking to like-minded people to be incredibly heali...

Re: ack... i'm too young for this

Hi, I struggled with this too when I joined AA. I'm 21 and I thought that AA was for people who had been drinking years and years and that I wouldn't have anything in common with them however this is not the case at all. I soon realised that I had a lot in common with them as we were all alcoholics....
