Re: Progress_not_Perfection-rant

On a good moment, I just keep hearing music, senseless music. In blackout I would become a "rock star", depending who or what was playing in close vicinity. Now I understand why, may be part of Egoic mind, things I wished I had become, or could have become. The true basis to this is very real, at sc...

by Stepchild » Sat Oct 10, 2015 10:21 pm Great share...You capture pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization clearly. So glad you found the way out. I am a little confused why Reborn is credited with this share...Maybe I'm missing something. Thanks all for the replies, it was just a rant, and a s...

Re: Trying to wrap my head around "powerless" in step one

.But putting this program into action with the guidance of someone that had successfully done it was the key.
Exactly what's on the recordings, 20 years experience of the action.

Progress_not_Perfection-rant

Just a rant, haven't said much on here lately, and I did get some ideas after I posted some questions. But anyway, it was 2007, somehow I found myself in that place of the unforgiving, again. "Sorry" did not cut that last black-out, and how subtle it was. We never went out to drink that day for the ...

Re: Trying to wrap my head around "powerless" in step one

Have tried Joe and Charlie, but don't fully ID with them. Similar and simpler can be found using Paul F archway to freedom, the steps as they were done in the early 1940's, passed on to the present. All my references, teachings and experience come from that step study group using only the BB and arc...

Re: When four principles became Six Steps expanded to Twelve

There is heaps of AA history from books, "Dr Bob and the Good Ol Timers" There is also a "lost book", How it Worked, a true story, The story of Clarence H Snyder and the early days of AA in Cleveland Ohio. by Mitchel K. In the BB stories he is the "Home Brewmeister" BB Editions 1,2 and 3. The early ...

I'm Back !

I did not really go anywhere, just things on the technical side, computers, internet etc. Got most of it sorted and back online. However, in the cold wide world "out there", I still have my home group, the service, and now a Big Book Study group and of course hoping to work with new comers or relaps...

Re: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE

a break from this forum due to the debates that have been appearing Yep, I see that to, a break from a computer time to time I do that to. Other things get done and f2f meetings to go to. If a topic is overwhelmed with "debating society", I simply move on unless it has substance pertaining to recov...

Re: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE

so a sick mind can not cure another sick mind then ? just one question i have would be, how the hell did bill and bob get going then ? Well, firstly in the first chapter of the BB, The Doctors Opinion, if you read it, there are some clues to answer your question. There are pages and pages all over ...

that no matter how well we can think we really are, this illness will never have a day off hmm, But all the other above, I have heard similar words, where some think the HP thing is a divine service corporation 9-5 earth time 5 days only per week, and if does not perform instant gratification with ...

Just something to share

I would not say much in a f2f share, cos it's known anyway, we go to meetings and see each other. Anyway, lots has been said about the physical craving, ( body) and the mental obsession,(mind) that the main problem centers in the mind. Well, I have been asked by actual confrontation after a meeting ...

Re: Trying to wrap my head around "powerless" in step one

I personally don't mind cliches, it's improvising the basic text in illustrative form, some relate, some don't, but I agree whole heartedly it should be all in perspective and not the ideology of trying to re-write. I use cliches as a way to find the meaning back to a section of the BB, then join th...
