Re: Drinking Dreams

Oooohhhhh Dr. Bob! Of all people - a doctor. Tells us all to keep it simple. His his words "louse it up" - meaning don't put bugs in it! Ew, but I can totally see one dream can equal 100 bugs in my mind! Difficult to root them all out!  a simple concept. not easy to follow but simple. =b...

Re: Drinking Dreams

One is the simplic...

Re: Addicts in AA meetings?

that addict could also be an alcoholic but doesnt realize it yet. theres many cross addicted in AA. I have seen this many times. Come in claiming an "Addict" only later to state "I am an Alcoholic/Addict" Switched to Alcohol when their Drug of Choice wasn't available. And as the Big Book describes ...

April 17 Daily Reflections LOVE AND FEAR AS OPPOSITES All these failings generate fear, a soul-sickness in its own right. TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 49 "Fear knocked at the door; faith answered; no one was there." I don't know to whom this quote should be attributed, but it certainly ind...

Re: Questions heard at meetings.

Our book is meant to be suggestive only. We realize we know only a little. God will constantly disclose more to you and to us. i find it rather funny when i hear or read of criticism of the BB,then suggest those critics put pen to paper and write a book on how to recover. i havent read or heard of ...

What is the correct way to handle this.
I would first start with prayer. Asking your HP the best way forward for
you to handle this in your group or groups.
what would the master do?

Re: Questions Heard At Meetings.

I think if the members stop whining and moaning but share how they solved their issues using the program that will be powerful and show the world that this program is about leading a fruitful life. That's one opinion. Another is that this Fellowship is about getting sober and helping other alcoholi...

Re: My wife's drinking is worrying me

it reads like the person with the problem of her drinking isnt her but you, so another vote for al anon for ya. it helped me tremendously- NOT to get the alcoholic in my life sober but to help me learn how to set boundaries and a learn even more about myself.

Re: Questions Heard At Meetings.

Can our lives improve from certain types of jealousy, for example jealousy of those doing ‘better’ in the program than we are? i think it depends. jealousy of something others have that i want and can work for it? not bad. jealousy of something others have that i cant have? not good. however, if im...

Re: Is it required to be a Sponsor

an often overlooked little part in the BB: None of us makes a sole vocation of this work(carrying the message), nor do we think its effectiveness would be increased if we did. We feel that elimination of our drinking is but a beginning. A much more important demonstration of our principles lies befo...
