Twelve Steps to Sobriety Meeting

Welcome to the  Wednesday Twelve Steps to Sobriety Meeting of The e-AA Group. My name is  Kim.   I will be your Chair today.

*** is our Greeter.

Please join in a brief moment of silence for the still sick and suffering alcoholic, both inside and outside these rooms; and let us consider our own reasons for being here, followed by the Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference.

AA Preamble: ---- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.

There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. ----  Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The meeting lasts for one hour.
The chat rooms are open for 30 minutes of Fellowship before and after each meeting.

Do we have any visitors or newcomers who would like to introduce themselves by first name, this is not to embarrass you, but for us to get to know you?

Please confine responses to thanking the sharer with no interruptions or cross sharing. Brief comments/welcomes/congratulations are acceptable.

This is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. As such, it is for AA members to share their experience, strength, and hope with those who have a desire to stop drinking or to learn more about the AA program of recovery from alcoholism. We ask that all who participate confine their discussion to their problems with alcohol.

**  Please type !! at anytime during the reading if you wish to share.  **

Would anyone like to add anything before we close the meeting?

That finishes the sharing and I'll now post The Promises to end the meeting:

The AA Promises

If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through.  We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.

No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.  That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.  We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.

Self-seeking will slip away. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.  Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us.  We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.  We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Are these extravagant promises?

We think not.

They are being fulfilled among us - sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them.

Are there any announcements or upcoming events on e-AA?

Please remember Anonymity:
Who you see here
What you hear here
When you leave here
Please let it stay here

Those of you who would, please join me in closing the meeting with the Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference..

Step Three Prayer

God, I offer myself to Thee, to build with me and to do with me as thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy power, Thy Love and Thy way of life. May I do Thy will always!
