(CLOSED)There is a Solution Meeting

Welcome to the "There is a Solution" meeting of the e AA group.

My name is **** and I am an alcoholic.  I am your Chair.

***  is our Greeter.

After a moment of silence, for the still suffering alcoholic, would those of you who wish, please join me in The Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference.

AA Preamble: ---- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.

There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. ---- Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.

This is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. As such, it is for AA members to share their experience, strength, and hope with those who have a desire to stop drinking or to learn more about the AA program of recovery from alcoholism. We ask that all who participate confine their discussion to their problems with alcohol.

This is a Big Book Study.

**  Please type !! at anytime during reading if you wish to share.**

Today's Big Book reading is:

We're out of time. Does anyone have any parting thoughts or need to share briefly before we close?

That finishes the sharing and I'll now post The Promises to end the meeting:

The AA Promises

If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through.  We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.  We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.

No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.  That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.  We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.  Self-seeking will slip away.

Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.  Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us.  We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.  We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Are these extravagant promises?

We think not. They are being fulfilled among us - sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them.

Are there any announcements for upcoming events on e-AA ?

Please remember Anonymity:
Who you see here
What you hear here
When you leave here
Please let it stay here

Please join me in closing the meeting with the Third Step Prayer

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen!
